Spice of Life Conference Center, located at the Flatirons Golf Course
5706 Arapahoe Rd, Boulder, CO 80303 [MAP]
Cary Kennedy is a rising star in Colorado politics and a brilliant public leader in every sense of the word. You don't want to miss this dynamic and engaging speaker. Please make your reservation today, and bring a friend!

Treasurer Kennedy has distinguished herself statewide by developing the Building Excellent Schools Today (B.E.S.T.) program to repair and replace aging school buildings in Colorado. She also opened the ledgers of state government by posting the state's finances online, including a database that shows how taxpayer dollars are used. Cary is one of a handful of public fund managers in the country that has generated positive investment returns during the financial downturn. She has preserved Colorado's strong credit rating while most of the other states have been downgraded.

The doors open at 11:00am, with the Buffet at 11:30am. The program begins promptly from 12:00pm and wraps up at 1:00pm. The cost is $18 for dinner and program. $10 for program only.

Chautauqua Community House, Grand Assembly Room
900 Baseline Rd, Boulder, CO 80302 [MAP]
Dr. Chris King, Superintendent of the Boulder Valley School District since 2007, will be the guest speaker, and there will be plenty of time for questions and comments from attendees. This is a very timely discussion as our public schools are facing funding shortfalls in 2010. It's hard to say how deep the state's budget cuts will need to be, but for a little local perspective, just click here for a story about issues in the Boulder Valley School District.

Rollie has been a member of the State Senate Education Committee for the last two sessions. While adequate funding is vital to the pursuit of excellence in education, he has also been working on a number of measures to address performance. Colorado was just named a finalist in the federal "Race to the Top" education reform competition, and Rollie will continue to work on strategies to improve our educational system into the future.
